Hey there all- the Day of Absence protest went off far better than I could ever imagine. The amount of support from classmates, fellow artists, enthusiasts and visionaries was overwhelming. It is really the first time that I felt so proud, so humbled by the people around me.
So, for fun and viewings, here are some links about the day, and some photo albums to check out!
The Day of Absence Protest/Demonstration at COB became the main visual representation about the event. Me and fellow QC grad/ artist Jonathan Murray wanted to do something on campus, and a quickly formed plan soon caught fire amongst our friends and peers. About 30 of us donned white shirts, wore tape on our mouths and laid down on the walkway on campus, attracting many curious onlookers.
Many of us like Dr Bethel wrote blogs or Facebook notes about the day. Here's my note on Facebook about the importance of such a day, from my perspective as a student artist.
Here are some photo albums on Facebook: Rachael's, Trevette's, Steffon's and mine!
